Kaiba believes this to be a mere illusion, but Yugi knows it for what it truly is - a vision of the past. The duel continues with Kaiba summoning his Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Yugi counters with Dark Magician, just as the Pharaoh did in his vision. When aired in Japan it was a 1 and a half hour special.

Kaiba appears to be the victor until Yugi splits up Ultimate Dragon with De-fusion, giving Dark Paladin enough attack points to win him the duel. Yugi's Ragnarok magic succeeds in destroying the Winged Dragon of Ra, allowing the good Marik to regain control of his body. Marik surrenders the duel to Yugi, ending the Battle City finals. Kaiba activated the Duel Tower's self-destruct sequence, giving everybody one hour to get off the island before it explodes.
