The first season premiered on October 20, 2010 with the two-part episode "Breakout." This was followed by the episodes "Iron Man is Born," "Thor the Mighty," "Hulk Versus the World," "Meet Captain America," and "The Man in the Ant Hill," which all take place before the two-part episode "Breakout." Footage from these episodes had been used to create a micro-series of five-and-a-half-minute episodes each focusing on one character. The series took a hiatus after "The Kang Dynasty" and returned on May 15, 2011 in the United States. The series aired in the order according to production code in Australia, where the season finale aired first on April 12, 2011. The season finale then aired on June 26, 2011 in the United States. The first half of Season 1 was released in order by production code on home video on April 26, 2011. The second half of Season 1 was released, also in production order, on October 25, 2011.
